State Street Description: Poems on Art are significant in literary tradition. As part of this celebration, participants will write their own poems on art, including the Art in Bloom installation, using several (optional) writing exercises. We’ll read, share and discuss poems on art by Keats, Browning, Auden, Wilber, and Ashbery, as well as being introduced to their poetic forms, including the sestina, ode, and basic lyric. No previous knowledge of art or poetry is necessary to take part in this lively discussion of poetry, with visual illustration, just an open mind!
